Positive: The owner is excellent, she shared a lot of information with us about things to do in the Cameron Highlands and wasn't at all pushy trying to sell tours, just gave us lots of options and allowed us to contact her if we decided on something. We enjoyed staying in an apartment even though it is shared, as there weren't many other guests and luckily we weren't disturbed by noise. The restaurants around the area are really good and not at all touristy like the center of town, some won't like the location at all but we did.
Negative: Although the apartment was nice, the bed was probably the worst we've had in 6 weeks of travelling so far, we had plenty of hard beds in Thailand but this was next level, with a small blanket that barely covered the two of us. It was also freezing when we were there so a thicker blanket would have been helpful, or an extra one (there was an extra very thin blanket) . Finally, as I mentioned it was freezing and during our 3 days there the weather was awful, the wind was so loud (we were on the 8th floor) that we couldn't sleep the first night, even with earplugs. The doors and windows were rattling all night long.
